Metallica played their first two shows of 2023 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, Netherlands on April 27 on Thursday and Saturday.
The Thursday show saw Metallica open with "Orion" for the first time since 2011 and debut the 72 Seasons tracks "Screaming Suicide" and "Sleepwalk My Life Away", and the Saturday show had a lot more. Metallica played the Load track "Until It Sleeps" for the first time since 2008 and debuted the 72 Seasons tracks "72 Seasons", "If Darkness Had a Son", and "You Must Burn!". Metallica also opened with another instrumental, this time throwing it back to "The Call of Ktulu".
