VEIL OF MAYA Throws It Way Back With New Single "Synthwave Vegan"

No clean vocals. Only madness.

Veil Of Maya has slowly been incorporating more and more clean vocals into their sound ever since vocalist Lukas Magyar joined in 2014. The shift in sound has been working very well for the band, and they've managed to write some seriously catchy stuff that people (including myself) enjoy quite a bit. Though this new song "Synthwave Vegan" has absolutely none of that. "Synthwave Vegan" is under three minutes of nothing but total chaos, djenty guitars, and Meshuggah-esque rhythms flying right at your head. It rules.

"Synthwave Vegan" is available here. No new Veil Of Maya record has yet been announced, but given how much this song kicks ass, here's hoping they do that soon. The band has previously released standalone singles "Outsider" and "Outrun." Guitarist Marc Okubo also revealed during a 2020 interview that Veil Of Maya wrote an entire record in 2019 and ended up trashing it.

"We made a new album in 2019. Because of the actions of certain individuals, it left a bad taste in our mouth and we didn't think it was worth salvaging. We have deleted the majority of it and have been recording material that we are more happy with. Now we're on tour."

Catch Veil Of Maya on tour with Born Of Osiris starting later this week.
