Soilwork's last album Verkligheten and EP A Whisp Of The Atlantic may be some of the band's finest work to date, and clearly they're looking to extend that streak.
Soilwork is now streaming "Övergivenheten" off the new album of the same name, once again the band has reinvented themselves just a little bit. Soilwork kicks things off with some country-tinged instrumentation before diving headfirst into a very straightforward, super melodic metal song and massively catchy chorus. It's excellent, as is everything they've been doing.
"The title track of this album just might be the pinnacle of this band’s musical journey – it sums up everything that we’ve ever been about and the sometimes risky musical venture that this band embarked on some 20 years ago," said vocalist Björn Strid. "To me this song is as close to the heart as it gets."
Övergivenheten is out August 19. The album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Thomas "Plec" Johansson, and is the first with new bassist Rasmus Ehrnborn. Pre-orders are available here.
