Greta Van Fleet is back with a new single "Meeting The Master" and a new album called Starcatcher due out July 21.
If you've been following Greta Van Fleet at all throughout their career, then know what to expect – throwback prog-tinged rock that slowly makes its way toward a grand ending. "Meeting The Master" feels very '70s Rush-ish (looking at you, "Closer To The Heart") alongside a music video that's clearly meant to evoke that era as well.
Basically if you're into Greta Van Fleet at this point, you're going to love this, and if you're not then this'll just feel like another purposeful throwback to catch the classic rock audience. Which is fine – dudes know their audience. Good for them.
"'Meeting The Master' peers into an esoteric world heeded by the word of a wise teacher," said Greta Van Fleet on the single. "Sung in the voice of a devout believer, and eventual group exclamation, the song details the love these fervent followers have for their teacher and their firm belief in his vision. It's an exotic spiritual journey. A dark comedy that inevitably ends in chaos."
Pre-orders for Starcatcher are available here.
