GOLIATHAN Succumbs to Nature in New Video for "Albion"

"We wanted the star of the video to be nature."

Goliathan's music is plenty devastating on its own. Though when coupled with bleak and macabre imagery, Goliathan only seems to get more destructive. The band is now streaming their track "Albion" alongside a music video directed by both Ashley Joncas (Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson) and the band themselves.

"There’s a narrative to Albion where this mythical beast comes to correct something humans have done," said guitarist Kevin Cogill. "We don’t define exactly what, just that we were taking things too far like we always do. Who knows? Maybe there are civilizations that existed that we don’t really know about because they were wiped from the face of the Earth without a trace. We don’t want to over-tell the story. It’s more like scenes from history—past and future."

Cogill also touches on the video itself.

"We wanted the star of the video to be nature," Cogill says. "The band are almost the victims in the story. Mysterious figures. In the spirit of Goliathan, the human element is a sidebar. Nature is re-asserting itself. But it’s not the normal apocalyptic story—it’s good news. It’s not, ‘How are gonna survive in this wasteland?’ It’s just, ‘Ok, let’s get this thing back on track.’ We’re temporary. Earth will go on long after we’re gone."

Albion is available via Goliathan's Bandcamp.
