Exist Immortal says its new album is "coming soon," but after hearing "Follow Alone," I have decided that "soon" is too far away. The band has chosen us to premiere its new song and video today, and I really couldn't be happier.
Upon first listen, I expected the track to lose a good portion of its momentum with one of those played out "energetic introduction into a low-key verse that picks up energy along the way" structures, but it did the complete opposite. Riffs turned into great little technical bits, which turned into an almost melodic death metal passage, which in turn morphed right back into the chorus. My only real problem with the song is there are so many small sections that get stuck in my head that I can't sing them all at once.
Well done Exist Immortal. If our readers aren't into this, then clearly they hate driving, well-constructed metal.
