I'm honestly surprised at the huge reception Disturbed's cover of "The Sound of Silence" has received. I guess it's doing really well in Australia because they were asked to perform on one of the largest shows in the country.
Apparently, when the band made the announcement, some of Disturbed's fans called the band sellouts for appearing on The X Factor, which is ridiculous, and Draiman had to comment:
“To those of you saying 'sellouts,' or, 'What is Disturbed doing on 'X Factor' anyway,’ we're fighting the good fight for our genre to be respectably represented,” commented Draiman. “All rock bands should. All artists/musicians want to spread their work to as many people as possible. That's what it's all about. Sharing the beauty of what you created. If that is considered 'selling out' to some people, then so be it."
