Decapitated is now streaming their new single "Just A Cigarette" alongside a video directed by Marcin Halerz and the band themselves. Lyrically, the song deals with modern life and death, while the music itself is plenty brutal.
The single is from the new Decapitated album Cancer Culture album due out May 27. Cancer Culture will be Decapitated's first with new drummer James Stewart (Bloodshot Dawn), who joined in 2021.
"'Just A Cigarette' is a powerful, epic, melodic death metal song about human life expectations and death," said guitarist Vogg. "It was the first song I wrote for Cancer Culture, which shaped the whole album. To present the track even more and affect the listeners' senses, we wanted to deliver it with a great piece of art. For this occasion, we teamed up with the Polish artist Marcin Białas, who let us use his fantastic gravure prints, which we used in our video as well."
