Dark rock outfit Skumlove out of Los Angeles has partnered with the Your Rock Foundation to shed light on metal health issues and bullying that many struggle with each day. Their new single "The Dark" is a personal statement on the struggles that both the band's frontman, Skum Love, and many others have faced throughout the past year and a half.
“The Dark” was written “under duress while being held captive by the height of the pandemic in 2020," Skum Love comments. “We are honored to have our video premier on Metal Injection. This song is a personal letter to myself and all the other people stuck in the dark the last year or so. You are not alone, there are others like you and together we will survive. You sometimes can’t see the light until you reach the darkest point."
"I knew this had to be more than just another song, it had to be a movement… I reached out to the ‘You Rock Foundation’, and with their incredible help, this song can reach to more people and hopefully reach others that are crying out for help. Music has always brought me out of a dark place and made me see the light.”
