We've been covering Cognizance for years now, and I am so stoked to tell you all that they've signed to Prosthetic Records for their debut record Malignant Dominion. The band's first single from the album "Strychnine Shift" features both Job For A Cowboy vocalist Jonny Davy and ex-Aborted guitarist Mendel Bij De Leij, and is all the technical death metal madness you've come to expect from the band.
Here's what guitarist Alex Baillie had to say.
“'Strychnine Shift' is one of the more intense tracks from Malignant Dominion. This piece is a solid representation of the different elements that establish our sound for this record. We are all pretty pumped on the Iowa style vibe combined with the rapid fire vocals that kick off the song. A huge shout out to Jonny Davy and Mendel Bij De Leij for being a part of this single.”
Malignant Dominion also features ex-The Faceless vocalist Derek Rydquist, Extol vocalist Ole Børud, famed producer and guitarist Jason Suecof, and Aborted guitarist Ian Jekelis. Malignant Dominion was mixed by Jason Suecof (Deicide, The Black Dahlia Murder, Death Angel) and was given artwork by Jef Whitehead (Leviathan, Lurker of Chalice).
