Check Out MATT PIKE & HIGH TONE SON OF A BITCH Sludging It Up On New Single "Monuments To Ruins"

A re-imagining of a track Pike wrote years ago.

High Tone Son Of A Bitch has recruited the legendary Matt Pike for a re-imagining of 2006 Kalas classic "Monuments To Ruins." Kalas was a short-lived band that featured both Pike and High Tone Son Of A Bitch guitarist Paul Kott, so it's pretty cool to hear the duo getting back together and revisiting their old material. This also isn't the first time Pike has collaborated with High Tone Son Of A Bitch – he contributed some smoky-as-hell lead guitar on their 2020 EP Wicked Threads!.

"It was an honor to join my brothers in HTSOB on this Kalas tune," said Pike. "Of all the lyrics I have written, this song is the only one I've collaborated with anyone writing. Paul wrote a couple lines of the lyrics with me, and the music. It's one of my favorite Kalas songs, it's really intense. Doing this was a way to pay tribute to so many of the friends and family we have lost, especially thinking about Brad Reynolds and Paul's viking warrior brother Drew."

High Tone Son Of A Bitch will release Live At The Hallowed Halls on September 9. Pre-orders are available here.
