Brazilian Death Thrashers CLAUSTROFOBIA Induct You Into The "Riff Cult"

Although the mainstream spotlight isn't always pointed in their direction, the Brazilian metal scene has been blossoming for decades. Obviously, you're aware of Sepultura, but chances are you've also heard of Angra, Krisiun, or Sarcofogo. Another very notable act based out of São Paulo in Brazil would be the death/thrash act Claustrofobia, who emerged in the early 90's and has since dropped six albums as well as toured with Soulfly, Napalm Death, In Flames, Vader, Kreator, Master, Destruction, and more.

The band has just dropped a new single titled "Riff Cult," an homage to metal's key component. Vocalist emphasizes Marcus D'Angelo emphasizes that aspect stating, “We consider it a culture, a cult. It is the hook of all metal, everything is born from the guitar riff." This new single is an appetizer for their forthcoming 2021 record, which was produced by Adair Daufembach (Megadeth, Angra, Dirk Verbeuren).

You can watch the music video for "Riff Cult" now where the group brings forth their meta-tribute to riffs with their own display of groovy and thrashy death metal riffs galore.
