BILLY HOWERDEL (A PERFECT CIRCLE) Announces Debut Solo Album And Tour

Video for the single "Poison Flowers" is moody and surreal

A Perfect Circle's Billy Howerdel will release his new solo album, What Normal Was, on June 10 via Alchemy Recordings/Rise Records/BMG. Along with the announcement, a music video for the album's current single "Poison Flowers" has been released. It's a goth-like clip that offers up as much menace as the title suggests, and was directed by Rizz of the death-pop group Vowws.

"This is me stepping back into my early teen self and making the record I would've made if I had the means and the knowledge when I first picked up a guitar—just in 2022," Howerdel said, previewing some of his thoughts on What Normal Was. "It's that moment as a kid when you hear a record, close your eyes, and go somewhere else. That was the time I found my lane, so to speak."

In addition to the album, Howerdel will be touring this summer, starting in June on the West Coast before heading East for multiple dates throughout July. For two dates — June 12 in Los Angeles and July 1 in Michigan — Howerdel will be joined by his A Perfect Circle bandmate Maynard James Keenan, who will be performing with Puscifer.
