ABRAMS Brings The Beefy Riffs On New Single "Fire Waltz"

Plus a sweet stonery breakdown in an odd time signature.

Abrams has signed to Blues Funeral Recordings and is set to release their new record Blue City on May 24. The band is now streaming the debut single "Fire Waltz" alongside a music video directed by Alex Pace.

"I didn't think this song would make the record, yet it turned out really great in the studio, with some of my favorite guitar tones on the album," said Abrams guitarist and vocalist Zachary Amster. "The second verse is a standout to me, with its ethereal trippy guitar lead and memorable vocal melody singing 'haunted idols'. When we added this to the song, it definitely made it a game-changer. Additionally, the rock-out jam in the odd time signature of 5 is a fun part to play!"

Blue City was recorded and produced by Kurt Ballou (Converge, High On Fire, Torche, Chelsea Wolfe) at GodCity Studio. On the record, Amster commented: "The songs on Blue City deal with the feeling of being trapped in a place of comfort and normality.

"Where we may really want to pack up and try anything new; but the scare of change is holding us back for what is known as routine. The blue city is a metaphor, for this is a cold but familiar place that keeps us imprisoned from any drastically new experience. A comfort in the familiar, a fear of the unknown."

Pre-orders for Blue City are available here and here on Bandcamp.
