Hot on the heels of the release of their live EP, Anno Domini, Olympia, Washington's Wolves In The Throne Room have just announced they'll have brand new music for fans in the new year. There's not much information available yet, but the band announced they'll once again be working with producer Randall Dunn and the album should be out in the first quarter of 2014.
The band's announcement was abrupt and got buried in all the end of the year list hullabaloo. Nevertheless, this is big news for metal fans as Wolves In The Throne Room are one of the leading acts in the U.S. black metal scene. Since the band's inception in 2004, WITTR have been instrumental in influencing USBM's sound. The upcoming album (if it is indeed a full LP) will be the fifth full length offering from WITTR since they sprung from earth a decade ago, and, if the progression in quality of the band's material holds up, this should be their best offering yet.
The band's website promises more info on what exactly is getting released in early January, so keep your damn pants on for (hopefully) a few more days and we should know what's up. Until then enjoy this live clip from WITTR's Roadburn performance back in 2008.
