When former Veil of Maya vocalist Brandon Butler left the band over creative differences, many wondered what those differences were. Looks like the answer is clean vocals.
In a new teaser posted by the band this weekend, which came in the form of a Breaking Bad parody, they revealed that the new album will have clean vocals, and, I'm assuming, it was guitarist and band leader Marc Okubo who suggested it:
Overall, the quick tease of cleans does not sound bad to me. I'm curious to hear the full song. We had a chance to catch the band with their new vocalist, Lukas Magyar, at the Metal Injection SXSW showcase and he did a solid job filling in, but no new songs yet, other than the one the band already released.
Veil of Maya's teaser site, VeilHasRisen.com announced the song will be released at some point today.
