It looks like we're going to have to wait a little longer for a new Stone Sour record, everyone. The band recently teased that it was at least messing around with some new ideas for a new record, but the timeline for the new music is a little further off than we expected. Stone Sour has stated that it will be hitting the studio in January 2017, will record for two months and take another to do all the mixing and mastering, and then hopes to have it out next summer.
On one hand, it sucks that we've got to wait a little bit longer to get a new Stone Sour record, but at least 2017 is already looking a little bit better?
In a recent interview with Loudwire, frontman Corey Taylor says the new stuff has "got elements of metal, it’s got elements of hard rock [and] it’s got elements of punk," and that the band has about 15 songs written with another 10 or so coming.
So maybe this will be another House Of Gold & Bones situation where we'll get two records between 2017 and 2018? We shall see. At least now you know what Corey Taylor thinks!
