QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Reportedly Finished With A New Album, Didn't Feature Mark Lanegan

It'll be the first time since 2000 Mark Lanegan didn't appear on a Queens album.

Queens Of The Stone Age hasn't been the type of band that heavily hints at a new album when it's doing one. It looked like the band was in the studio at one point, and information on a possible single may or may not have leaked depending on the credibility of the source, but that's basically all we know.

To shed further light on a topic that's basically pitch black at this point, Dean Delray of the Let There Be Talk podcast stated in a recent episode that he "[knows] they just finished, I’m dying to hear it" in a conversation with frequent Queens collaborator Mark Lanegan. Lanegan, who has appeared on every Queens record from Rated R to …Like Clockwork, also says that he didn't appear on the new album, breaking the streak from 2000 to 2014.

So who knows. Maybe the supposed "Head Boy Machine" single is real after all, and is coming out July 31.
