MASTODON Reveal Killer Once More 'Round The Sun Artwork

This artwork will get you high!

Has it really been almost three years since The Hunter?

Mastodon have officially revealed the sexy artwork for their new album, entitled Once More 'Round The Sun.'  The Atlanta-based metal masters tracked the album in Franklin, Tennessee, with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Deftones, Alice in Chains).

How trippy is the album artwork (above)? Today, the bandalso revealed the official track-listing:

Once More 'Round The Sun:

1. Tread Lightly
2. The Motherload
3. High Road
4. Once More 'Round the Sun
5. Chimes at Midnight
6. Asleep in the Deep
7. Feast Your Eyes
8. Aunt Lisa
9. Ember City
10. Halloween
11. Diamond in the Witch House (featuring Scott Kelly of Neurosis)

According to a recent Paste interview with bassist/vocalist Troy Sanders, the band originally recorded 15 tracks, but decided to scrap three of the songs to keep the album around an hour long.

“We didn’t want a 90-minute album," Sanders explained. "We like to record around the 60-minute mark. That’s what our favorite records are. We’re in love with all 15 of [the songs], so they might all see the light of day in some platform or another.”

Of course, it wouldn't be a Mastodon album without longtime collaborator Scott Kelly of Neurosis, who has been featured on every release except Remission.

Of the recent collaboration, Sanders joked:

"I think subconsciously that we're trying to involve him with every album enough to have a full set of songs eventually. I think his performance is great, his part still gives me chills. That's a great sign."

If you somehow missed last week's leak of the new Mastodon single, High Road, you can listen to the official version here.

Mastodon's Once More 'Round The Sun is set for a June 24 release via Reprise.
