KORN Tease "Heavier" New Record, To Return To The Studio After Tour

2016 could be the year of Korn.

2016 could be the year of Korn.

A little while ago, we posted about how Korn was touting its new material as "heavier" than it has been in the past. Of course Korn fans went insane given the band's foray into electronica and even throwbacks to its nu-metal roots recently, but when would we hear some new material? Unfortunately not for a little while, according to guitarist Head in an interview with Loudwire, but the band is making progress on the new stuff and it's still being classified as "heavy."

“Munky, Ray, Fieldy we’ve been getting into the studio writing some riffs so we’re poking away at that,” Head told us. “I’m a metalhead so I keep saying I think this album is going to be heavier. I just want heavier all the time. That’s what I’m leaning towards, that’s what I’m writing and we’re poking away.”

As for their progress, he adds, “We have these dates, so in between these dates … Munky just had a baby, so we’re going into the studio when we can, but I think after this tour it’s going to really pick up, the first of the year next year, but we want to keep going.”

Could 2016 be the year everyone loses their shit over Korn? Time will tell but I'm definitely hoping so! The band has always had potential, even in their bad material, so we'll see.

The band is about to hit the road for the final leg of their 20th anniversary tour with Suicide Silence. Get dates here.
