KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's New Album Is Almost Done And Might Be Pretty Long, Possibly Proggy

The band is looking at 16 or 17 songs right now.

The band is looking at 16 or 17 songs right now.

Has it really been almost three years since Killswitch Engage released Disarm The Descent? I'd start in with the whole "NEEDZ MOAR MUSIC" bit, but it looks like the band is reaching the tail end of recording its new album! On the same token, vocalist Jesse Leach has taken to Twitter to let us know just why the recording process has been taking so long- this is one long album!

Well, at the very least it'll be a long album if the band includes all the songs from the sessions. Maybe there's going to be an EP and then the album? Or some of the songs will be used as b-sides for singles… then again, we might just be getting a long ass album. That's entirely possible as well.

Jesse Leach also posted on Instagram that the new album will be really diverse and include some fairly fucked up time signatures!

Write a riff in 17/8?! Thanks #AdamD ! Just doing vocal acrobatics again, this one is a beast! I think we may surprise a few people with the diversity in this record. From quiet and emotive to blistering and brutal and everything in between really. Only one more song to tackle and this mouth is going to be quiet for a week solid, after a celebratory cigar that is! This record is just about complete!!!! #kserecordingsessions #WhatThe #TimeSignature #SongsOfRevolt #GiveItEverythingOrNothingAtAll #killswitchengage #JesseLeach #IYellintoAMetalTubeForALiving. Also because I don't pack enough shirts #Candiria t-shirt represent again ha ha ha! Very stoked for you to hear it my friends! (No I don't know when it will be out or when a song will be released, ask @roadrunnerrecords) ?✊?

In the meantime, have you heard the band's new song "Strength Of Mind," because they've been playing it live and it's awesome!
