Rob Zombie has generally taken three years between albums, and considering it's been three years since The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser, you'd assume it would be time. The record has been in the pipeline since 2018, though Rom Zombie releasing his new film 3 From Hell probably pushed things back a bit.
One major player in keeping the hype up for the new album has been guitarist John 5. John 5 spoke highly of the record at the beginning of this year, and now in an interview with Revolver he heaps on even more praise. John 5 says in an interview with Revolver that the album is "very heavy," later adding that it's "the most musical" as well.
Heavy, very heavy. It's just a heavy Zombie record with great hooks. It's very, very musical, and a hard-hitting Zombie record. I think people are really gonna dig it. I'm a Zombie fan, and if I heard it, I'd be like, "Oh my God, this is brutal." I'm really excited about it!
Well, this is definitely the most musical, meaning there are a lot of different changes, and it's very unorthodox how the structure is, you know? I have to be careful because I know people will take a little snippet of what I'm saying, so we'll go with "a very heavy, hooky Rob Zombie record."
To be fair to Zombie and John 5, per the latter's last part of that quote, I'm sure the record is going to be way deeper than just being "heavy" and "hooky."
