THE WEEKLY INJECTION: New Releases From VADER, BURZUM, and More Out Today – 6/3

Happy Tuesday to you all. Are you all hungry for new records!?!?! Welp, there's a few this week to act as a snack, I suppose. Any whoozle, this week's edition includes a black metal legend, OG death metalers, some mighty folkers, and more. To the metals…

Just in time for his next legal battle, Varg Vikernes is dropping another non-metal record of minimalist ambient music. The little I've heard would be layered into a good post-metal or doom song, but alone it sounds like a droning soundtrack to a pretentious indie film.

This band is really cool. At a glace of their band photos, I expected to hear some Within Passion clone, instead is a band that is fairly proggy while remaining epic. There are moments of blasting, triumph, and soaring chanting. This kind of has everything it could possibly have.

Yes! This band has only gotten better on their second record. If you're not familiar with the band, think Revocation with more melody. So catchy and crushing. Also, they may have the best lyric video I've ever seen which you may watch below.

In thirty-one years (that's insane right?!) Vader has remained at the forefront of their genre. They have stuck to a sound, yet they don't sound stale unlike some of their peers. I have to give them props there. This album will probably cause bruising.
