This edition includes frills, frills, and more (frills, that is)! To the frills…
All Hell – The Grave Alchemist
Genre: Black metal/thrash
Origin: Asheville, North Carolina
Label: Prosthetic
Buy now on Amazon.com
All Hell are a solid mash-up of no frills black metal and no frills thrash. Does that then mean that they are a black metal band with thrash frills? or a thrash band with black metal frills? Anyway, I could see fans of Goatwhore digging this despite them not sounding overly similar.

Richie Kotzen – Salting Earth
Genre: Hard rock
Origin: Reading, Pennsylvania
Label: Headroom-Inc label
Buy now on Amazon.com
Guitar genius and part-time Winery Dogs (as well as ex-Mr. Big and ex-Poison) member is dropping his millionth album this week. The little I've heard has some solid guitar-work coupled with Chris Cornell-esque vocal delivery. Pretty catchy while being pretty bluesy.

Necrowretch – Satanic Slavery
Genre: Death metal
Origin: Valence, France
Label: Season of Mist
Buy now on Amazon.com
You know a band is fucking heavy when their name has "Necro" in it, and these guys don't disappoint in that aspect. They're another band that either have black metal frills, or blend frill-less old school black metal and old school death metal. I prefer to think of them with frills, but I'm probably wrong.

Nightbringer – Terra Damnata
Genre: Black metal
Origin: Green Mountain Falls, Colorado
Label: Season of Mist
Buy now on Amazon.com
From the frosty, kvlt as fuck forests of Colorado come Nightbringer and their fifth album of grim black metal. Logos are pointy, faces are adorned with corpse paint, and beats are blasted. Some melodic frills, but mostly just evil Rocky Mountain jams. I should note that I don't know how near Green Mountain Falls is to the Rockies, but I'm not too worried about it.

Novembers Doom – Hamartia
Genre: Doom
Origin: Chicago, Illinois
Label: The End
Buy now on Amazon.com
Let's slow things down a bit with some epic doom. Hamartia is Novembers Doom's tenth record and it might be my favorite of what I've heard. I'd say that fans of Paradise Lost, Katatonia, and the likes should get on this, but these guys have been around for like twenty-five years, which is about as long as both of them.

Oranssi Pazuzu – Kevät / Värimyrsky
Genre: Psychedelic Black Metal
Origin: Tampere/Seinäjoki, Finland
Label: 20 Buck Spin
Buy now on Amazon.com
Having just released a full-length record of their unique brand of black metal madness last year, one of the best weird bands out there now are already giving fans more. Kevät / Värimyrsky is an EP of two songs, that happen to share the titles of the EP. The pair of tracks are spooky and great as per usual.

Shores Of Null – Black Drapes For Tomorrow
Genre: Doom/black metal
Origin: Rome, Italy
Label: Candlelight/Spinefarm
Buy now on Amazon.com
Gonna do a double dip of epic doom this week. Shore of Null dropped the amazing Quiescence in 2014, and this is just as amazing follow-up. No sophomore slump here. Also not here, much to sample of the new record. I mean, I heard some stuff, but get some teasers or something I can share.
Varg – Gotterdammerung
Genre: Melodic blackened death metal
Origin: Coburg, Germany
Label:Napalm
Buy now on Amazon.com
Going out on a blackened death metal band with some melodic (you guessed it) frills. A surprisingly turn around considering that they dropped a full album last year. Unfortunately, this is only an EP. Fortunately, this release is four tracks of high energy metal wrapping this Weekly Injection nicely.
