Starting this week off with some happy-go-lucky death metal lads. This EP celebrates the band's 20th anniversary with three new tracks and a re-recording of "The Holocaust Incarnate." So this thing should hold fans over until the next release.

Now on to some weird prog. This release is part symphonic, part technical, part folk metal, and all around awesome. Dissona have given us a really diverse album that hits on quite a few moods, genres, and influences. Very, VERY well done.

Keeping things slow and heavy are one of my favorite named bands of late. These guys are experts in slow-build heaviness as one must be to be in a successful post-metal/sludge/whatever band. When the heaviness is released, it is devastating.

The Shrine – Rare Breed 81qM6bjP03L._SL1500_

Genre: Stoner

In a world now devoid of Motorhead, bands like The Shrine are now important. This is fist in the air, groovy rock n roll with zero fucks given. Also, this band has answered the question of what would a metal gals day at the beach be like? See included video.

Witchcraft – Nucleus 61eiIh58S9L._SL1417_

Genre: Heavy metal/Doom
Origin: Sweden

I could see this band on co-headline tours with Graveyard in the near future. This is a collection of tracks that pay homage to the 70's in every way. From production to instrumentation and even to random inclusions of flutes and stuff, this oozes the 1970s in the best way.
