One of my favorite albums of last year (even though it technically came out in 2010) was Ghost's debut record, Opus Eponymous. We hadn't heard much from the band since they played Metallica's ORION Festival this past summer, but now we finally have an update.
Previously, the band has said the new material sounds "divine", and after spending the year writing and recording, they are currently putting the finishing touches on the new album.
The band is working with Grammy winning producer Nick Raskulinecz who has worked with everybody from Foo Fighters to Death Angel.
While we originally reported that the band signed a $750,000 deal with Warner Bros. executive Tom Whalley's new imprint, Seven Four Entertainment, the label is actually on Loma Vista Recordings, also headed by Whalley.
We've already gotten really excited for plenty of releases in 2013, but new Ghost is moving towards the top of my list.
If you haven't yet seen it, watch the band's first video interview ever conducted by Frank last year.
