Polarity came out in 2010 and it was a fucking awesome record. It was what I would imagine Death would have sounded like in the modern era of technical death metal. Unfortunately it was also at that time that Decrepit Birth had just sort of stopped saying anything about the possibility of a new record. Oh Decrepit Birth, where have you gone?
Five years later and the group is back at it. We had heard some rumblings before this that a new record was probably on the horizon, but you know how well the rumor mill pans out into reality sometimes. According to the group's Facebook page-
“Some good news! Our guitarist Matt Sotelo is currently finishing up all the guitar tracking for the new album! We will enter Private Ear Recording studio in Winnipeg, Canada to track drums later this Summer! Bass and vocals parts will also be tracked this Summer. Keep an eye out for in studio video updates! Also, we will have full album details, including track listing and album title for you guys soon! So keep checking back for updates!!”
I like that the group seems to want to announce the new record before it's even done being recorded. Never too early to start the hype train! Especially when you've got this much time between records… and who are we kidding anyway? You and I know damn well we'll be posting about it every step of the way.
