A few weeks ago, I was burning with Axl Rosenberg of MegaSluts.gov at his mansion wing and he put on some Cephalic Carnage for us to groove on. I felt like I almost forgot how insanely awesome this band is. Since then, I've bounced the band back into my regular rotation. This morning, I got a press release from the band's label, Relapse, letting me know they have just entered the studio to work on new music. Oh, happy day! The band is recording with longtime engineer/producer Dave Otero and planning for a Fall release.
I'm sure the band will be playing some new material when they head out on the Metal Injection/MetalSucks co-sponsored Summer Slaughter tour, and I certainly can't wait to hear it. The band did perform a new instrumental track a few months ago. I wonder if that track will make it to the album.
