Ever since its reformation in 2005 with vocalist William DuVall, Alice In Chains has released two albums – 2009's Black Gives Way To Blue and 2013's The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here – and they've both been fantastic. Now in an interview with Good Celebrity, guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell reveals Alice In Chains will be hitting the studio next month to begin work on a brand new album!
"We are just gearing up to make a record. We'll be moving up to Seattle in about a month and record the record over the summer out there in the same studio we recorded our third record in. So it'll be kind of fun — go home, make a Seattle record. Hometown boys in a hometown studio."
Cantrell says the album will be "a little grungy," and that at his age, he "can't really do much else." Given the quality of the output from Alice In Chains over its career with both singers, does anyone really want some major departure from Alice In Chains's normal sound at this point?
