Sometimes I am late to the party. Such was the case with Agalloch, who I only discovered a few months ago. But I am already a convert of the Sweedish-via-Pacific-Northwest sound. If you like progressive metal, there is no doubt in my mind that this band will blow your mind. And guess what? They are putting out a new record! Their label, Profound Lore has announced that Marrow of the Spirit will be released on November 23rd. Clearly, Frank is way ahead of me on this one, as he wrote about Agalloch in his Top 10 Anticipated Releases of 2010 at the end of last year.
The band has also announced some West Coast dates to get people pumped for their new material. They are as follows:
Dec. 17 – Portland, OR @ Berbati’s Pan (w/ AERIAL RUIN)
Dec. 18 – Seattle, WA @ Neumo’s (w/ ALDA)
Dec. 21 – Los Angeles, CA @ [to be announced]
Dec. 22 – San Francisco, CA @ Great American Music Hall (w/ DISPIRIT)
