Did you hear the news (that's been the news for a few years now (but is for real this time)): Tool is almost done with their new album.
Tool spent two months in the studio in the spring, before heading back on the road to play live gigs and do intimate clinics. In that time, they were able to complete drum tracking. During the band's live shows, frontman Maynard James Kennan was even jokingly begging the band to finish up so he could record its parts. The June update revealed they were back in the studio. In September, Maynard indicating he's finishing up vocals – the last step in the recording process before mixing and mastering.
So fingers crossed, by the time the band heads out for this run of European festival dates, we'll be hearing some new music. Here's the routing:
