SYSTEM OF A DOWN Announce Reunion Show At Holiday Radio Fest

Can they just do a full album and tour already??

Can they just do a full album and tour already??

My absolute favorite late-90s, early 00s era band System of A Down are returning to the stage. Sadly, it's only for one gig.

The band have been announced as one of the headliners for Los Angeles radio station KROQ's annual Almost Acoustic Christmas on December 13th. The band made the announcement themselves via Twitter earlier today:

Other bands on the bill include Linkin Park, Bush, Incubus, Fall Out Bay, Rise Against, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer and U2 – this is a radio festival after all.

While drummer John Dolmayan was hopeful for new music this year, it's clearly not happening. Both he and bassist Shavo Odadjian are on-board it seems that frontman Serj Tankian is the hold out. A few months ago, Shavo even contemplated the band moving on without Serj although those comments were quickly retracted.

Perhaps, having all four guys in the same space jamming and rehearsing again may spark the interest to finally write a new album. While we wait, we can just watch the worst System of a Down cover ever on loop.
