When we last talked about Soundgarden a few weeks ago there were only a few shows announced, with very limited information. Today I can report there are seventeen dates announced for their US and Canadian tour, and they are bringing some pretty awesome openers on the road with them.
The first week of the tour will see Coheed and Cambria open the tour, with the middle of the tour featuring The Mars Volta as support and then the final two shows is where things get really interesting. For their final two shows they will have both Queens of the Stone Age and Meat Puppets open things up, while their final show in George, WA will see the addition of Mastodon for a near-orgasmic lineup of rock.
