The Metal Suckfest Is Coming, Headlined by MUNICIPAL WASTE & CYNIC

Twenty incredible bands in two mosh-filled, headbang-fueled days.

For the past couple weeks, our buds over at MetalSucks have been teasing their readers with rumors of some momentous occasion in the works, which ended up being The Metal Suckfest in New York City at The Gramercy Theatre, November 4 -5, 2011.

Taken out of context, the name actually sounds kind of funny. But anyway, taking my mind out of the gutter, I’m pretty stoked about this event. For the first night on November 4th, Municipal Waste will headline the show. Having seen them twice before and had a blast, just putting MW on the bill is enough to get me to go. I’m especially excited to see how the event goes at The Gramercy Theater. It’s on the small side, but big enough for some seats and room to move around, making it perfect for a good metal show. Last time I saw MW, they dressed up like hippies and acted like crazy surfer dudes. Who knows what hilarity this show will bring? With a new album set for recording later this summer, perhaps we’ll hear some fresh thrash that night as well! The second night will be headlined by progressive-metal heroes Cynic, who also have a new album in store this year as a follow up to last year’s Re-Traced EP.

I can’t wait to hear who else is playing. I feel pretty optimistic about who MetalSucks will pick for this one though, so I’ll take their word for it when they say: “This is gonna be the best hang of the year.”

Let the band speculation begin!
