It's gonna get heavy.

Meshuggah 2022

ArcTanGent Festival, known for its eclectic lineup of progressive rock, math rock, and experimental music, is marking its tenth anniversary with a bang in 2024, by announcing two acts that will please any fan of virtuosic musicianship and mind-bending compositions: Meshuggah and Animals As Leaders.

Swedish prog metal pioneers Meshuggah will command the main slot on Friday night, in what would be their only UK appearance of 2024 announced thus far. American instrumental prog trio Animals As Leaders will join them in that day's bill, their first appearance in the festival since 2016.

Other bands already confirmed are Northern Irish post-rock quartet And So I Watch You From Afar (playing a fan-voted setlist), Australian guitar virtuoso Plini, and Dutch prog metallers Textures. Rounding out the diverse lineup are US sludge masters Red Fang, UK stoner-doom purveyors Bossk, Danish dark-heavy metallers LLNN, and Californian rockers Night Verses. The festival will also host the farewell show of the experimental instrumental prog-rock act Three Trapped Tigers.

Festival booker James Scarlett enthusiastically said about the announcement: “To celebrate our tenth Birthday we wanted to invite back some of our all-time favorite bands from over the years. We drew up a list of all the bands that have ever played ATG that we’d like back and, as it was probably the best thing I’ve ever seen at ATG, naturally Meshuggah was top of that list. Animals As Leaders last played way back in 2016 so they weren’t far behind! We’re stoked to be welcoming both bands back in even bigger fashion than last time, to celebrate 10 years of ATG."

ArcTanGent happens over three days (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) and is held annually at Fernhill Farm in Somerset, England. Tickets are for sale at this location.
