Earlier this year, we posted a list of 20 albums celebrating their 20th anniversary, and of course, one of the biggest albums to come out that year was Sepultura's Roots. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like that version of Sepultura will ever get back together, but that hasn't deterred Max and Iggor.
In a recent interview with PlanetMosh (via), Max Cavalera revealed plans for a 20th-anniversary tour:
"Actually, this is twenty years of the 'Roots' album, so [Igor and I] are planning to play the whole 'Roots' record. I think we're doing it in the States. Hopefully we'll come to Europe as well, playing the whole record. And then I'm gonna work with him to try to work on some new tunes for a new Cavalera [Conspiracy album]. I think this time we're gonna actually use a real producer; I don't know who yet."
Once this Cavalera tour is confirmed, it seems like a can't-miss show to attend. Roots is one of my all-time favorite albums (although I'm more of a fan of Arise) and I can't wait to get dumb-drunk and shout every lyric live. As soon as we have dates, we shall post them!
