The Monster Energy Carolina Rebellion, held in the Charlotte, North Carolina area each May since 2011, is inching closer and closer to being crowned the king of North America’s annual hard rock and heavy metal festivals.
This year’s edition, being held May 6th-8th, will see the event expanding to three days for the first time in the festival’s history. Carolina Rebellion’s multiple stages will play host to over 50 top performers including The Scorpions, ZZ Top, Disturbed, Deftones, Alice Cooper, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 3 Doors Down, Lamb of God, Cypress Hill, Five Finger Death Punch, Anthrax, Megadeth, Rob Zombie, Ghost and many others.
It’s hard to argue with Carolina Rebellion’s continued growth and success as the 2015 edition saw over 80,000 fans, the festival’s largest ever attendance, spinning through the turnstiles at the Rock City Campgrounds at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina.
As the sun has continued to set on multi-band summer rock music tours such Ozzfest and reportedly Mayhem, a newer model more aligned with the hard rock and metal festivals held over in Europe has emerged. Carolina Rebellion is helping to the lead the way as the event continues to offer those who attend unique experiences that go beyond simply three days of head-banging musical bliss.
Co-Executive producer Danny Wimmer says, "From its inception, we believed Carolina Rebellion would grow into a three-day festival. There is a loyal rock fan base here to support Rebellion's continued growth. While this, of course, means another full day of music, including more classic artists, the entire festival experience will be noticeably enhanced.”
Wimmer further explains, “The entire festival experience will be noticeably enhanced. This year's emphasis will be on food. We will be hosting a 'Gourmet Man Food' offering that reflects the cultural food explosion that is happening all around the country."
Fans this year can stop by the Pig Out BBQ Village featuring “Gourmet Man Food” that will be artistically created and served in large portions with a unique presentation.
Another unique offering at this year’s Carolina Rebellion for fans to check out will be the Music Experience which will feature all the elements that are involved in making music in a professional band setting.
The interactive exhibit will feature guitars, basses, amps, drums, keyboards and electronic gear that are used by the most popular bands. The Music Experience will also host autograph signings and artist interactions throughout the day.
Fans that purchased Carolina Rebellion camping and hotel packages will be able to attend the Thursday Night Campground Party. Doors for the event will be at 7:00 PM on Thursday May 5th with the music starting at 8:00 PM with Something Clever opening things off, followed by the headliner 2112 (Rush Tribute)
Monster Energy is still currently giving fans at chance at attending the festival for free as they will be giving away 25 pairs of tickets at select Circle K locations and other retail outlets throughout the North Carolina area now through April 25th. One lucky winner will receive a Monster Energy Drink grand prize that will include tickets, hotel accommodations, spending cash and a S.I.X.X. AM meet and greet at Carolina Rebellion.
Carolina Rebellion also continues to be a part of the “World’s Loudest Month” series produced by AEG Live, Danny Wimmer Presents and Rock House presents that ultimately sees 300 bands play to over 400,000 fans across eight festivals from the end of April through the end of May.
Pre-Sale weekend, 2-day and single day general admission tickets for Carolina Rebellion still remain on-sales at http://carolinarebellion.com/
