Cynthia Albritton, better known as Cynthia Plaster Caster, has died after "a long illness" at 74 years old, according to Variety.
Albritton's claim to fame was taking and collecting plaster casts of rock stars' erections (and later breasts in 2000). Some of Albritton's clients over the years included Jimi Hendrix, Wayne Kramer of MC5, Dead Kennedys vocalist Jello Biafra, as well as Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Laetitia Sadier of Stereolab.
Outside the documentaries, Albritton has at least two songs about her and her hobby – "Five Short Minutes" by Jim Croce and "Plaster Caster" by Kiss. Albritton would also go on to unsuccessfully run for Mayor Of Chicago under the Hard Party ticket in 2010, as if her story wasn't interesting enough.
Albritton's life was immortalized in the 2001 documentary Plaster Caster, and again in the 2005 BBC documentary My Penis and I. We wish Albritton's family and friends all the best at this time.
