A few weeks ago, I saw Cynic on their headlining tour and was absolutely blown away by the entire set. It is definitely a contender for live show of the year for me, and anybody that listens to the Livecast knows that Cynic are one of my favorite bands around (although some others on the 'cast might disagree). Well, Cynic have just issued their first post-tour update, and besides the pleasantries exchanged about the other bands on the tour, the band hints that the wheels are in motion for a third Cynic record:
“Dear Cynic family,
We’d like to thank you guys for making our first ever US headlining tour a great success and a lot of fun for us personally! Not only did we have a great time performing a set list this extensive, there was also a real family vibe going on behind the scenes between us, our crew and the guys from Intronaut and Dysrhythmia.
As we are wrapping up our touring cycle for Traced In Air and Re-Traced with this successful tour, it’s time to get ready for album number 3! The first baby steps into this gigantic process are being taken right now, creating little embryos of songs that will turn into fully fledged CYNIC tunes over the course of the following months, exciting!
