Darkest Hour were always a band that I felt never got their just due. The band have gone through some lineup changes in recent years, but the current lineup has been consistent for the last three years. And all those shows playing together, working on their chemistry has paid off big time, because their new album, Godless Prophets & the Migrant Flora, is their best in a really long time.
It's their first release since 2014's self-titled, but this one, to me, has immediately more replay value. It's heavy, it has plenty of shredding and plenty of great melodies. This might be the band's best work to date. Take a listen courtesy of Noisey.
