Esoteric has been making the metal world a little slower and more mournful ever since their 1994 debut Epistemological Despondency, and after eight full years since their previous effort, they're back to do it again. Esoteric will enterPriory Recording Studios in Birmingham, owned by vocalist and guitarist Greg Chandler, one April 11.
The band says the record will be out this year and will feature guitarist Gordon Bicknell. Bicknell did not play on Esoteric's 2011 record Paragon of Dissonance, but has played on everything else they've ever done. Oh, and it's going to be a long record.
"The new album, which will be 2CDs and 3LPs in length, sees a return to the heavier use of psychedelic effects and a greater variety of tempo, expanding on the sound developed since the band's inception in 1992."
Now we wait for doom.
