Tool is currently out on the road until mid-November (and then again in 2024), and they've just unveiled a brand new piece of merch only available at their shows. Tool is now selling a special edition CD version of their 1993 debut album Undertow, limited to 7,000 numbered copies between this and next year's tour.
Tool bassist Justin Chancellor took the lead for the art direction of the reissue, which is interesting considering Undertow was Tool's only full-length with bassist Paul D'Amour. The reissue features a sleeve band, a velcro envelopestyle casing, a full artbook, a removable lenticular postcard image, and a commemorative coin at the back of the book. The reissue is allegedly going for a whopping $500 each according to Reddit, though no photos of the merch booths with the CD have yet surfaced.
Check out a video of Chancellor unboxing the reissue below. As for new material from Tool, it sounds like there are plans for studio time after the band's tour in 2024.
