"Suffer" Unto Chicago's BLOODIEST

Born out of some of the current and former members of groups such as YakuzaRussian Circles, and Corrections House is the Chicago-based, experimental sextet of Bloodiest. They will be releasing their self-titled, second studio album on January 15th through Relapse Records. The group features Bruce Lamont (vocalist, Yakuza/Corrections House) as well as guitarist/producer Tony Lazzara among other notable musicians.

Bloodiest draw influence from the likes of Swans and Neurosis, opting for hypnotic atmosphere over blistering speed. Ironically enough, the members of the group don't really consider themselves metal, but more of an avant-garde rock band that uses metal elements to solidify a heavier sound. This becomes more clear when you check out the track, "Suffer", below. It's a two-minute sample of distorted riffs, rock-n-roll rhythm, and Lamont's trademark bellows. You can check out another track, called "Mesmerize", from the album as well as pre-order it from their Bandcamp page.
