SOILWORK announce new guitarist

Guitarist Ola Frenning of the Swedish metallers SOILWORK has posted the following message on the group's official web site:

"We're proud to announce that we decided who's gonna be the new second guitarist for SOILWORK.

"After tons of gigs and tours, with different candidates, we decided that it will be Daniel Antonsson [photo] (from DIMENSION ZERO, PATHOS). It was a very hard decision to make… 'cause all of the guitarists we tried, have been awesome to play with. We had a great time with all of them on the tours and I'm sure they soon will be heard in another band or another constellation.

"About the recording [of the new SOILWORK album]: Dirk [Verbeuren, drums] has arrived to Sweden, and we have been rehearsing the new songs for a couple of days now. Today we will start with the recording of the drums. And that will go on for the next week, or something. During the following three weeks, we will record the guitars, bass and keyboards. At the beginning of March, Björn [vocalist Björn 'Speed' Strid] will fly to Canada and work together with Devin Townsend to do the vocals. It's gonna be interesting."

SOILWORK's latest CD, "Stabbing the Drama", is available now on Nuclear Blast Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Figure Number Five" was recorded at Fascination Street studios in Örebro and Dug-Out Productions in Uppsala, Sweden with producer Daniel Bergstrand (MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, STUCK MOJO).

Guitarist Peter Wichers left SOILWORK in December 2005 to pursue a career in producing.

(Blabbermouth)
