Sludge Masters RADIANT KNIFE Bring Unrelenting Riffs

Imagine if Leviathan-era Mastodon just kept evolving to get sludgier and proggier. Yeah. Radiant Knife are that good.

Imagine if Leviathan-era Mastodon just kept evolving to get sludgier and proggier. Yeah. Radiant Knife are that good.

Heaviness. Groove. Completely unrelenting, these are the things that Radiant Knife bring to the table with their latest offering, the masterful Science Fiction.

These guys have layered their new record with all sorts of fascinating songwriting bells and whistles. This is an album that ebbs and flows, it can almost be perceived as breathing. It has a life all of its own and Radiant Knife aren't so much composers as they are the mad scientists working desperately to make the entire thing low.

It's a pretty stunning auditory experience and one that is going to not just mesmerize but also push you to exciting and bold new heights you won't soon forget. As you dig in, you will find yourself all the more charmed by with every passing spin. Yeah there's a huge Mastodon influence in here, but you can also pick out other thrilling elements borrowing from not just the early 2000's sludge bands like Baroness but also steeped in the greater history of the genre.

The band had this to say:

"Thanks for checking out our latest album Science Fiction.  We put a lot of work into this one while maintaining our focus on not being confined to any genre/sub-genre.   Essentially, we just followed the riffs based on the philosophy if that's where they take us, then that's where we belong.  We think that mindset is the only mindset that results in true art, as it is born from unadulterated expression.  After all that's what art should be."
