Damn it, System of A Down, get your shit together and figure out what you're doing.
Speculation of new System material being worked on arose back in May when bassist Shavo Odadjian said the band wanted to do it but Serj had reservations, so they were considering moving on without him. He, and the band quickly retracted that statement. Then Serj was asked about new System and said he was in no rush and that he has plenty of other projects to work on.
Then, this past Monday, July 29th at the end of their one-off show at the Hollywood Bowl in LA, the band hinted again that they might be working on new material.
The hinter this time was drummer John Dolmayan who came up to the mic at the end of their set and said:
“Next time we come back here, we’ll have a new fucking album!”
You can see it for yourself at about 2:30 in this video:
Maybe the band have been jamming while practicing and came up with a few ideas and the spark was reignited or maybe John was just being facetious, and if that's the case, damn it stop playing with our emotions and just give us a new record!
