CELTIC FROST Might Reunite For Tribute Shows To Bassist Martin Ain

Tom Gabriel Fischer has the wheels in motion.

Celtic Frost broke up for the final time in 2008, and founding bassist Martin Eric Ain unfortunately passed away in 2017. Now guitarist and vocalist Tom Gabriel Fischer revealed to Heavy Culture that he's considering reuniting the band in some capacity for a show or two to commemorate Ain. Fischer added that he's been in contact with drummer Reed St. Mark about the idea, who played in the band between 1985 and 1988, and then again between 1992 and 1993.

"I have talked to the original drummer of Celtic Frost, Reed St. Mark, who lives in America. He's still one of my best friends. And we've talked about maybe doing one or two Celtic Frost tribute shows in memory [of] Martin Ain. We haven't really finalized these plans, but maybe we'll do that one day, that we'll play with just ex-Celtic Frost members who were in Celtic Frost at the time and maybe play a full Celtic Frost set that includes all the eras of Celtic Frost and maybe play one or two festivals and also record it as a memorial to Martin Eric Ain."

It'll be interesting to see who Celtic Frost gets to play bass for the reunion if it happens. The only other bassists the band had were Dominic Steiner in 1985, and then Curt Victor Bryant between 1988 and 1990. So probably one of those two if it'll be "just ex-Celtic Frost members."
