The speculation comes from an extremely simple post by the Summer Slaughter Facebook page that reads "Morbid Angel?"
I went back to their posts from around this time in 2012 when they were asking if people liked Aeon, Revocation, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Children of Bodom, The Black Dahlia Murder, and The Ocean. The only two that didn't make it onto the actual tour were Children of Bodom and The Black Dahlia Murder, so I think it's safe to say they're not so much asking people if they want to see a band as they are quietly announcing who they're going to be asking to play the tour.
I think it would be really interesting to see Morbid Angel on the tour given they're just coming off their Covenant 25th anniversary where they're playing the album in full. So maybe they'll continue reaching back in the catalogue for some older stuff! Or maybe they'll break out some new jams from their supposed upcoming record? I guess we'll know in a few months! In the time being we'll keep speculating on who's going to be playing the tour, because we're good at that.
Perhaps, the co-headliners could be Wu-Tang Clan, as suggested by the Livecast in their recent interview with David Vincent.
Who do you think should be on this year's Summer Slaughter?
