Update: Extol has announced they'll be playing a Furnace Fest 2023. The band's current lineup has not yet been announced, nor have any future plans. The original story speculating on their reunion is as follows.
Original Story: Looks like there could be an Extol reunion in 2023. Rumors began circulating back in June 2022 when former Extol guitarist Christer Espevoll posted a photo of himself alongside Extol members Peter Espevoll, Ole Børud and David Husvik hanging out in what looked like the studio. The post was a little vague and didn't point to much, but now it seems the band is being a little more deliberate with their wording.
Extol posted the below photo with all four aforementioned members plus former guitarist Tor Magne Glidje, saying "We have a feeling 2023 is gonna be a fun year." Again, not pointing to anything specific, but it does seem a little silly to say 2023 will be a "fun year" on an otherwise inactive band's Facebook page without implying something more is coming… right? Can we have new Extol please?
Extol released what is currently their final album in 2013 with the lineup of Peter Espevoll, Ole Børud and David Husvik. Christer Espevoll quit the band in 2003 with Synergy being his final record, and Tor Magne Glidje leaving a few years after The Blueprint Dives in 2005.
