For most people an anniversary acts as a trigger that reminds you another year has gone by in your life. To some people it could be a birthday, a wedding anniversary, or even 9/11, but for our group of passionate headbangers and horn throwers that day is today. On this day we celebrate the life and tragic death of one of our own, guitar legend Darrell Abbott, aka Dimebag Darrell.
Seven years ago today something far more shocking and evil presented itself than any metal song can possibly prepare us for, real life sick twisted assholes. They say there is a silver lining to all situations however, and if there is one thing I can say about this tragedy is that it's brought us all a little bit closer together. With things like Ride for Dime, Dime Bash, and Black Tooth Grin / Pantera bar nights nationwide, this day reminds me how passionate, respectful, and brotherly metalheads across the globe really are. Today we here at Metal Injection are proud to celebrate along side our metal brothers and sisters, and cheers to Dime!
